Mobile Number Verification Info

To access certain features on ExSell, you’ll need to verify your phone number. This process ensures the security of our platform and helps prevent misuse by illicit actors. Rest assured, your phone number will be used solely for verification purposes.

How to Verify Your Phone Number:

Sign In:
Make sure you’ve created an ExSell account and are signed into the correct one.

Navigate to Account Settings:
Go to your profile settings and click on "Account Details."

Find Mobile Number Section:
Scroll to the bottom of the account details page and click on "Mobile Number" to proceed to the phone number entry page.

Enter Your Phone Number:
On the phone number entry page, input your Malaysian phone number (e.g., 11X-XXXXXXXX) and click "Next." A One-Time-Password (OTP) will be sent to the phone number you entered.

Please note: Each phone number can only be linked to one account. A single phone number cannot be used for multiple accounts.

Enter the OTP:
On the OTP page, enter the code that was sent to your phone and click "Confirm." If the verification is successful, you will be taken to a success page. If not, you’ll see a message explaining why the verification failed.

How to Confirm Verification:
Once your phone number is successfully verified, you can check the following to confirm:

  • The mobile number is now added to your account details.

  • You’ll see 3 confirmation ticks in your account.

  • Upload Listings

  • Upload Bounties

  • Join Events as a Booth

  • Upload Community Posts


Rare Scenarios:

Phone Number Already Linked to Another Account:

If you receive an alert indicating that the phone number is linked to a different account but you own the number, proceed with the process. The phone number will be removed from the previous account and reassigned to your account.

Phone Number Already Belongs to You:

If you are notified that the phone number is already linked to your account, no further action is needed. Your number is already verified.

OTP Does Not Match:

If you enter the wrong OTP, you’ll receive an alert. Please try again or request a new OTP.

Did Not Receive OTP:

Wait for the OTP timer to expire or cancel the request, then try verifying your phone number again.
